ACCEPTING THE CHALLENGE OF EXCELLENCE
(A.C.E. AWARD)
The A.C.E. award recognizes high school students who have made a dramatic change in their attitude and performance sometime during their high school years, and are now eligible for high school graduation. These "at risk" students have often ovecome great physical, emotional and social obstacles, yet few receive recognition.
This is a positive program with two key objectives. First, it helps encourage students to overcome their hardships and get back on track toward a high school diploma. Second, the award recognizes those students who are often overlooked for their accomplishments. This special recognition serves as a powerful example to all students that hard work and perseverance really do pay.
The Augusta Exchange Club is proud to participate in this worthwhile and meaningful awards program. For the year 2001 - 2002, Kentae' Green was selected as the recipient of this award. Kentae' is a graduate of Lucy Laney High School. He overcame extremely difficult circumstances as he was growing up in a single parent home where disfunction was the order of the day. Kentae survived through some very trying times in his life and with the help of his home church became a changed person and found direction for his life.
Kentae' plans on attending Morehouse College when he graduates and will be persuing a career in Philosophy and Religion. Later he plans to attend the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta with emphasis in theology.

We wish the best for Kentae' in his indeavors and honor him as our A.C.E. Aware recipient for the year 2001 -2002.
